About Sticky Password
Sticky Password has built its foundation with an ethos to protect your online activity – and they’ve extended that philosophy to protect the most docile and defenceless creatures in nature – endangered Manatees. In fact, the company behind Sticky Password is Lamantine Software – named after the French word for Manatee, “Lamantin”.
According to the Lamantine Software, “Manatees are unaware of their vulnerability in shallow waters near human civilization, just like many internet users who are unaware of how vulnerable their online data are.” With each license sold, they support the ‘Save The Manatee Club’.
Download and Installation
The file sizes are neat and tidy at 47mb and 22mb for PC and mobile, respectively, which won’t hog any valuable space on your device. The four-step installation starts with a three-part welcome intro. Thereafter you’ll be prompted to create your Sticky Account (or you can engage the “I have an Account” option, if you already do).
Account setup requires a ‘StickyID’, which would be the email address you’d like to associate with your account. You then move on to creating your Master Password. After selecting “create my account”, you’ll be prompted to confirm your Master Password – and since there is no way to recover your Master Password, Sticky Password prompts you to ‘check’ that you understand and agree to these terms.
During setup you can choose to enable “Cloud Sync”, or have your data never leave your device by using Wi-Fi or local network storage. Either way, your information will be protected by AES-256 encryption technology. You can go back and change this under “Synchronization” within the settings menu at any time.
The final step is ‘Browser Integration’, where you can select which browsers you’d like Sticky Password to have access to, and apply to – and all passwords stored within your chosen browsers will automatically be imported into your Sticky Password database.
Ease of Use
Both the desktop and mobile version offers a sleek and easy to use user interface that is simple to navigate. You’ll get the hang of it in no time.
On mobile, you have instant access to Web Accounts, App Accounts, Identities, Bookmarks, Secure Memos and Sharing Center. By engaging the hamburger menu, you can access Settings, Sticky Browser, Sync Now, Password Generator and Lock. Under Settings you can add App protection, access your ‘My StickyAccount’, Sync Settings, Import/Export, Autofill in external apps and more.
The desktop version offers the same ease of use with a few added extras on the dashboard. ‘Quick Access’ lets you view your most used Accounts, Bookmarks and Secure Memos. Engage the hamburger menu via the desktop app and you’ll encounter a host of additional settings to tailor the product to your liking.

Sticky Password is one of the most affordable password protectors vis-à-vis what they offer. For a mere $29.99 per annum you will have access to the premium platform and all its features. The amount is billed annually and works out to roughly $2.49 p/m.

- Account Authentication Methods
Sticky Password offers the choice to set up Two-factor authentication (2FA) via Google Authenticator. There are additional ways to authenticate your account under ‘Available authorization methods’. This includes standard password protection (using your Master Password), using a removable device, or by means of a Bluetooth device. - Strong Password Generator
Under ‘tools’, you can navigate your way to the ‘password generator’ where Sticky Password allows you to create unique passwords of up to 99 characters. You can choose if you want the password to include upper-case, numerical and special characters. Select ‘generate’ and you’ll see the password strength. You can also view your password history under this section. - Weak Password Alert
The Security Dashboard is accessible via the Quick Access section, which provides an overview of your password security on all associated accounts – along with their security status and password security. All weak, reused or old password will be flagged with a red alert in the ‘Security status’ column – and you can easily edit the information to improve security for each account. - Automatic Form Fill
Sticky Password is able to store and autofill forms based on the information you provide. From the dashboard, go to Identities where you can add your personal info, including identity, residential, contact details, etc. You can create multiple identities. - Payment Information Auto Fill
When you create an identity, you can also include financial details, like credit card and bank account information, along with your preferred currency. You can add additional payment methods, such as wire transfer, PayPal and cash, and Sticky Password can auto-fill this information when required to perform online payments. - Secure Password Sharing and Inheritance
The Sharing Center enables you to share any of the items stored in your Sticky Password vault by entering the email address of the person with whom you wish to share the information.
In terms of sharing rights, you can share with ‘limited rights’, which will restrict editing and sharing of items. You can also grant full control of what you share, although this gives the other user the additional right to revoke your access. This option is ideal for password inheritance.

Sticky Password has over 15 supported browsers and available extensions, including Google, Internet Explorer, Chromium, Comodo Dragon, Google Chrome Portable, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox Portable, Mozilla Thunderbird, Opera, Opera Portable, Pale Moon, Qualcomm Eudora, SeaMonkey and Yandex.
Actual browser support is dependent on your operating system and the type of device that you’re using.
Additional Features
On PC, screen capture protection is automatically enabled. On mobile, you can navigate to ‘App Protection’ via the settings menu where you can turn on ‘Screen Capture Protection’, which will inhibit screenshots being taken whilst the app is in use.
The mobile version of Sticky Password allows you to set an “Auto-Lock Delay”. You can set it to kick in upon device lock, when leaving the app – or delay app locking for up to 24 hours. On desktop you can change this setting to never auto-lock (although this is not recommended).
Sticky Password also offers ‘Portable Passwords’ via USB, external hard-drive or memory card. You can set us your Sticky Password portable password manager from the tools menu. The portable copy of your Sticky Password vault is ideal for situations where you don’t have your computer or smart device with you. It will allow you to access your encrypted data on any Windows computer – and it is compatible with all Windows supported browsers.
Secure Memos is a nifty addition to their offerings. You can store all sorts of private info, such as software licences, your social security and passport numbers, voter card info, internet settings and much more. Either create your own memo or use a ready-made template. The program affords the same high-end encryption to this data, giving you a safe space to store and retrieve your memos.
Sticky Password – Password Manager for Business
Sticky Password offers a complete team password security package for business use. This allows you to easily share passwords and logins securely, to grant, remove or manage access, or to set individual permissions for different employees.
By using Sticky Password for teams, you can apply good password habits across your business and bring company accounts under your full control. You can access shared passwords on your desktop, tablet and mobile. Sticky Premium for teams costs a meagre $29.99 per user, per annum.
Customer Support
Sticky Password offers excellent support for Premium users via their online contact form – which also allows for attachments. Although they give a turnaround time of 24 hours (during business days), they generally respond within a few hours – at most.
There’s a very useful “Help Center” which offers guidance on essential topics such as installation, activation and licence, getting started, browsers and autofill, etc. The Help Center further provides assistance based on specific operating systems, which is a great way to get results that pertain to your device directly.
