UltraVPN is now offering a free password manager and a dark web scan with all VPN packages. This is available on iOS and Android only at the moment and soon to come in Windows and Mac. Our initial review of those features in iOS was very positive. We will release a complete review of those added features as soon as they are releases in all platform.

UltraVPN – Speed review

UltraVPN is by far the fastest VPN service we’ve tested. Once activated, the software connects to the server almost immediately. There is a very slight delay – but it’s not nearly as noticeable as other VPNs. Unfortunately, the delay is inevitable as the VPN’s encryption process can impact how quickly your browser loads.

That said, our download speeds were significantly faster compared to other VPNs. Below, you’ll see our speed test results which show excellent performance. Here’s our base speed test:

Furthermore, we think you’ll appreciate that staying anonymous won’t mean sacrificing your play time or download speeds. While there is an inevitable disconnect between your usual loading speeds when using the VPN, it’s not significant enough to be noticeable.

In fact, the software’s lightning-fast bare metal servers make it feel like you aren’t using a VPN on your browser or devices. One of our tests even showed that movies and videos load almost instantly unlike when you use other VPN software services.

Last but not the least, UltraVPN allows you to connect up to 5 devices simultaneously. Since the platform can be used across a wide range of devices, we believe it’s enough to keep all your personal gadgets protected.

Ease of use

UltraVPN is designed for the layman – despite its impressive feature set. This means you shouldn’t have any difficulty navigating its servers or figuring out how it works.

While testing out the platform, we made sure to try and view it in the eyes of a beginner. Even as someone without experience in using similar software before, everything is easy to understand.

We like how the UltraVPN mobile app was designed in a way that makes it easier for anyone to find exactly what they need without digging around too much.

As you can see, the dashboard itself is streamlined to give you valuable information at first glance. The status page is clear and easy to spot so you won’t have to worry about forgetting to turn on your VPN before browsing.

As far as app and extension experience goes, everything runs smoothly and you shouldn’t encounter any bugs. Furthermore, the buttons and menus respond quickly.

Unlike some of the other VPN apps we tested, you won’t experience a period of stumbling around trying to figure out how to make things work or which buttons you need to press.

Supported OS and devices

The UltraVPN service is compatible with almost any device you own. It can be connected to Mac, iOS, Android, and Windows devices without a problem.

Security And Encryption

UltraVPN states that It doesn’t log any information that can associate a user with to it’s browsing activity:

“We may collect information about the nature of the requests that you make to our servers (such as what is being requested, information about the device and app used to make the request, timestamps, and referring URLs). However, our VPN products do not log any information that associates your identity with your VPN browsing activity. We do not maintain any records that show what you were browsing or accessing through a VPN connection”

In addition, they clarify their policy in the following:

“Our VPN products do not log or otherwise record IP addresses, device identifiers, or any other form of identifier in combination with your VPN browsing activity. Simply put, this means that our VPN products do not store any information about what any specific user browsed or accessed through a VPN connection.”

However, connection logs might be stored alongside IPs!

It’s important to note that UltraVPN uses OpenVPN which is the most secure protocol in tandem with AES-256 – the most secure industry encryption standard. This encryption standard is typically used in military and financial institutions to ensure complete data safety.

Using standard brute force hacking methods, modern processors would take several centuries to crack the security protocol. Furthermore, It has a built-in malware and phishing protection features to make sure its users are safe no matter what they do on the internet.

In line with its efforts to support true data security, the software also utilizes a kill switch feature alongside its own DNS servers to keep trackers at bay.

Customer Support

Nothing’s more frustrating than a crashed VPN that won’t work no matter how many times you try to restart the program. This is where customer service representatives come in handy.

While many providers lack in the support department, we’re happy to report that the UltraVPN team passed our evaluation with flying colors. Not only do they offer a 24/7 live chat support feature, but their representatives are pleasant to deal with.

We found that the chat servers acted fast. We were connected with an active agent within a few minutes to address our concerns. Other than that, they’re also eager to please and meet your needs.
